ACS Distance Education has been around for 43 years and currently offers over 700 courses.

But  ACS Distance Education is not just about courses. It is also about our tutors.

Our tutors are all –

  • Very experienced and knowledgeable in their fields
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about their subjects
  • Experienced in teaching in distance learning
  • Keen to encourage students to learn and develop by providing detailed feedback and help throughout the course.
  • Many are also experienced and knowledgeable writers. Many are involved in developing, writing and updating our courses.

Meet the Tutor – Jenny Bragg

Jenny Bragg is one of ACS’s tutors in hospitality, tourism and management. She is highly experienced and knowledgeable in these areas. Let’s learn a bit more about Jenny –

Jenny joined ACS Distance Education just over two years ago.

She writes on “lots of different courses across business, management, hospitality and tourism and tutor in the same areas” for ACS.

As well as tutoring and writing with ACS, Jenny also works with clients in different areas including marketing, customer service and events as well as teaching with a UK university on a hospitality business course.

In her spare time, Jenny enjoys reading, going for walks with friends, watching tennis and eating out.

What did you want to be when you grew up ?

“I didn't know what I wanted to be when I was younger, but my Mum worked in hospitality so I went in to that first before training to be a teacher.”

What was your career progress to get to this point?

“I went to university and did a degree, but did this whilst working so was able to gain experience and an education. I worked my way up in hospitality from a waitress to an events manager by showing commitment and eagerness to learn more. I did the same within my initial career in teaching, working hard to apply what I was learning from others.”

What is your favourite thing about your work?

“I love the flexibility of working for myself, getting to know more about my students through their assignments and supporting people achieve their best.”

Jenny’s Tips

We asked Jenny for some of her best tips for students!

To get work in hospitality and tourism, Jenny’s favorite tip is smile!  :-)

“Smile! In hospitality and tourism a warm welcome is so important, after that it is all about listening and applying the skills you're observing and being taught. If you have the right attitude, it is very easy to move up the management ladder.”

When studying online, Jenny says,

“Always ask if you're not sure, your tutor is there to support you. If you don't understand something in the notes, or the assignment, send a message via Student Services and your tutor will be happy to help!”

Jenny has substantial experience in hospital, tourism, event planning, business, teaching and writing. She is now sharing her experience and knowledge with ACS students.
