Advanced Anatomy: Online Course

An advanced anatomy course developed for people wishing to develop a career in health and human sciences, paramedical jobs and alternative therapists, specially massage therapists and other health care professions working in close contact with the patients body. Topics covered include surface anatomy, regional and systemic anatomy I & II, radiographic and diagnostic anatomy, plus cytology.

This course assumes a basic understanding of anatomy and is an ideal "follow-on" module from Human Anatomy and Physiology BSC101.

Biochemistry I (Animal amd Human) is an introductory course to biochemistry.  This course is similar to Biochemistry I (Plants) with a focus on animal biochemistry.  Biochemistry provides the knowledge base for all human and animals health studies.

In order to help you get the most out of the course we initially walk you throught the fundamentals of chemistry including atomic structure, the periodic table, molecules, nomenclature, organic chemistry and more before investigating common organic compounds such as carbohydrates, lipids and more.  Lessons cover: introduction to biochemistry, lipids, proteins, enzymes, nucleic acids, thermo regulation, carbohydrate metabolism, absorption, acidity, alkalinity, chemical analysis, and industry applications.

Prerequisite: Some secondary school chemistry will be helpful though it is not essential.

Learn Plant Chemistry by Distance Education

Build a foundation in plant biochemistry.   

Study: Biochemical substances and terms, carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids, proteins, metabolism, the nitrogen cycle, photosynthesis, respiration, transpiration, acidity and alkalinity, nutrition, hormones, chemical analysis and biochemical applications in industry.
