Editorial by ACS Distance Education Principal John Mason
There has been a lot in the news lately about youth unemployment. The world is changing quickly; an inability to be open to change, a lack of adaptability and slow reactions to changes, are part of the problem. We all need to learn how to problem solve better - on the run! We need to adapt quickly to changes - as and when they confront us.

I have also wondered if part of the problem with youth unemployment may be that what we are teaching our children today is for yesterday's world - instead of preparing them for tomorrow's world. We ask our children "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Even though we cannot predict what tomorrow's world will be! We tell them "Succeed at school and your future life will be secure". Should we instead be saying "Learn how to learn new things, develop good networks, know how to adapt quickly to change - and you will have an exciting life full of new discoveries and opportunities, that you can grasp and make the most of at every turn"?

NEW COURSE! Climate Science
Learn to explain the various factors that cause weather conditions.
Climate science is the study of atmospheric conditions, which are generally determined by factors such as temperature, wind, air pressure and water vapour at any specific time.
The earth's atmosphere is composed of a mixture of moisture, temperature and gases which, in one way or another, control the conditions that are vital for the occurrence of life on earth. These conditions are always somewhat active, and are subject to change at every moment in time. The variations in the atmosphere along with the earth's energy dynamics play a major role on what influences an everyday environmental behaviour. This, along with the movement of the earth and the suns radiation, produces continuous and aggregate conditions of climate and weather phenomena that affect, positively or negatively, life on earth.
